The Barndo Company

Our DREAM is to help you build YOUR dream

Welcome to

The

Barndo Company

We have been a family owned and operated business for 40 years. In 2022 I decided I wanted to take over my uncle’s construction business. My partner, Ross Beckman, and I established Schwab Builders LLC in 2022. In 2024, we established the trade name The Barndo Company as our business was evolving more into the residential market. As we began to grow my uncle’s business, we decided we wanted to expand to Putnam County, Ohio as Ross is from Ottawa, OH. God always has a plan and when your eyes are open enough it’s just amazing to watch all the pieces fall into place.

As a result, in 2024 we opened a secondary location at The Dumont on 202 W. Main Street in Ottawa. Our office is located on the 2nd floor suite 204. Ottawa and Putnam County have been amazing in helping my dream come true of continuing my uncle’s business into the next generation. It’s “Our DREAM to help you build YOUR dream”!

Much Love,
Nicole & Ross

Our

Process

1- Consultation Call

The first step in the process is to schedule a 30-minute consultation call with Nicole. During this call, we will review your current stage in the building process. Whether you are just starting to gather information or have purchased land and secured financing, Nicole will review the completed survey with you and help develop a plan for the next steps.

2- Design Consultation

During the design consultation, we begin by discussing any floor plans you may like or your list of essential features for your home. We will then sketch these ideas on graph paper and enter the initial design into our 3D program to provide an estimated cost. We will discuss how these designs fit within your budget and financial approval. The design process may involve several in-person meetings at the Ottawa office and, if preferred, an appointment with a recommended architect to design the interior of your home.

3- Final Design and Building Contract

The final meeting involves reviewing the design in detail as we prepare to submit the project to our Wick Buildings partners. At this time, a building contract will be signed with The Barndo Company, along with a 50% down payment. This submission allows us to assign the project to an engineer who will ensure the building meets the Revised Code for your state. Once submitted, it could take 6-12 weeks for the building to be delivered.

THE WICK ADVANTAGE

EXCEPTIONAL ENGINEERING

Wick’s Licensed Professional Engineers (PE) stay current with the latest codes and building technologies. Using those standards, Wick’s trained designers custom design each building to meet your needs and stand the test of time.

RELIABLE, HIGH QUALITY LUMBER

Wick uses only machine graded or machine evaluated lumber for all structural components such as truss members, columns, girts, and purlins. It’s at least 15% stronger than regular lumber so you’ll see less maintenance down the road.

UL LISTED STEEL

Wick’s proprietary steel roof panels have the highest possible Underwriters Laboratory (UL) certifications for impact (Class 4), wind resistance (Class 90), and fire resistance (Class A), providing you peace of mind plus the added benefit of insurance discounts.

HIGHLY TRAINED CREWS

Wick trains our crews regularly on technique and safety to ensure every building meets our high quality standards. In fact, we have won safety awards. We also insure our crews, which protects you from liability. Several Wick foreman have been recognized as Foreman of the Year by the National Frame Building Association.

A STRONGER SCREW

The new Wick Premium Fastener™ is a next-generation fastener for post-frame construction, small in size but packing a number of premium benefits including 46% more shear strength and 57% more pull-out strength than standard post-frame screws

EXTENSIVE WARRANTY & SERVICE

Wick proudly stands behind every building warranty and is an accredited member of the Better Business Bureau. Without all of the small print you find on other builders’ warranties, you’ll clearly know what is covered with Wick’s warranty.

COOL COLORS

Wick Buildings’ paint system colors are reflective and can help keep your building from gaining unwanted heat. They’re called “cool colors” by our paint partner, Sherwin-Williams, and the hardness of their WeatherXL™ paint system is the ideal match for our steel. Tough and reflective paint on full-hard steel — a great combination.

LOCAL BUILDERS YOU CAN TRUST

We partner with independent builders from your area. They live and work in your community so you’ll know who to contact should you need service, an addition, or another Wick building.
